Westbank stories (part 3)

(4)
Most of the Jews don't agree with what the government had done, including me. The thinking and behavior of politicians are usually different from the people, you know clearly about that. Though it's funny that people always vote for the politicians, who think and behave different from them, to own the power.

There're many Palestinians living nearby. They were original inhabitants here, or moved out of the Territory(or so-called West Bank) at the early stage. Palestinians could get the Israeli citizenship easily then. As time goes by, there were more and more things happening, Palestinians' situation became worse and worse. The Territory and Gaza are like 2 huge prisons, where the Israelis put Palestinians inside and nobody could get out. Yes, there's kind of application for entering Israel, but I've never heard that any of the Palestinians had got the permit in the last few years. We...including Jews, Israeli Arabs, and early Palestinian inhabitants, could visit The Territory whenever we want. But people inside would never come out. They hadn't done anything but been treated as prisoners, it's really inhuman. Suicidal bombers just make it worse. Conscienceless、cruel, whatever you said about Israel, I would not defend for ourselves. But you need to know. this is the only way to protect ourselves.

Israelis are not like Americans, who bombard the whole city to kill terrorists and citizens. We would have enough confirmed information first, then send the troops in to find out each of them. Only while being fully armed, we would be able to enter where you had been, searching houses one by one, and try to find these assholes out before they run away. The hostile eye-sights from people are like icy arrows, penetrating through my body and making me couldn't help trembling. We would die anytime as long as one of them has a gun. We're like holding guns walking in a gloomy forest, almost blind and being aimed by local hunters. Young soldiers are under great pressure. As a result, Palestinians see the Israeli soldiers shooting everywhere and catching whomever they want. But these kids just want to complete the fucking mission and go back to their families and girlfriends. I don't think any of these Israeli soldiers would like to visit any Palestinian settlements if they have other options. That 1 year, when I was in the Territory, was the worst time I had in my life. I would still dream about those Arabic faces, and each of them just want to kill me.

There were 2 Palestinians coming into my high school and shooting everyone, killing my best friend. My uncle died of bombing attack in Be'er Sheva. A Canadian Jewish went to Jenin to volunteer for the cinema, and was assassinated by the locals. Nobody could find the killers. The death number of Jews would not be less than the Arabs. What they had done to us would not be better than what we had done to them. I hate them killing Jews. I hate the suicidal attack. They make Israel flustered. We need to be checked everywhere, which is really annoying. Now, what is right or wrong doesn't really matter, the reasons doesn't really matter. OK, you find the source of the hatred, then what? Both Israelis and Palestinians know that killing people is not right, then what? Israel would still try to get all the Palestinians out of this land, and the crazy suicidal bombers would still be everywhere, One way or another, they would still get crazy while staying at home.

「no solutions」, yes, that's the correct answer. You get 15 points.

An island? Really? Then you must always see the ocean. Is it very~very~very big and big?

Daddy had seen the ocean when he was a kid. He went to the beach everyday and tried to see the other side of the ocean, but he couldn't see anything. He told me that the ocean is the most tender person in the world. She would like to be with you and listen to what you want to say, whether you're happy or sad.

We lived in Haifa before. The beach was just in a walking distance. We lived with all our relatives. Later the Jews came, telling us that we needed to move out and be separated from each other. Uncle Youssi said that we want to live together, but the Jews beat him. So we had to listen to them.

When my grandma died, Daddy and uncles were discussing if we sent grandma back to Haifa or not. I asked Daddy why grandma could not go back to our homeland, and he told me the Jews would not allow us to go home. They want to occupy the ocean. The ocean is the most precious treasure in the world. Jews are stingy, they don't want to share the ocean with others.

I saw the ocean in some books. It's blue; deep blue, wathet blue, and many different kinds of blue. One day Amond told me the ocean would be green when the water is totally clean. It's like the emeralds. I asked Daddy, he said Amond was right, but the green ocean would only appear at the half-moon. When the water came green, there would be a fish, with silver-white body and feather-like fins, appearing in the ocean. Daddy and his friends tried to catch that fish, but were stopped by the fishermen. Fishermen said if that fish left the water, the wind would stop, then the boats would not be able to leave the harbor to catch fishes. And then we would not have fishes to eat.

I really want to see the ocean. I really want to see that fish, and listen to the waves, to know if the sounds are as delightful as in the films. I will invite all my friends, uncles and aunts to come together. I won't be as stingy as the Jews. Daddy told me that, the ocean should belong to all the lives in this world. Nobody could occupy the ocean. She would be waiting there for us forever.
