Rio Carnival (part 4)

○ Blocos

(Japanese delegation)

(The best ladies tonight)

○ Championship party

(The Champion team of this year, Vila Isabel, is celebrating at samba school after announcing)

The air is quite tense while scoring, and the judges are so annoying many.
The champion will have championship parade at Sambadrome next Saturday.
 samba schools:
▪ More than 30 attending teams are from different barrios all around. The champion would be celebrating at their own barrio.
▪ The last ranked in Special Group would be moved to Access Group and attend the Access Group Parade next year. The top ranked in Access Group would be moved to Special Group and attend the Special Group Parade next year.
▪ Kids have their group in samba schools and parade, which was the next day of Special Schools Parade. Not sure if they would be scored or not, those little girls could make quite impressive dancing.
▪ Although they are called samba "schools", most members pay for themselves to learn dancing and costuming. Main incomes of schools were from the sponsorship of enterprises, and the carnival tickets every year.

○ Floats factory

● It's suffering while working under the ironic sheets in such hot days.
● People have to repaint where it comes off and deal with amendments everyday, having no idea why paintings comes off so fast.

○ Others

(The Central Railway Station of Rio, Central do Brasil)

● Filming spot of the movie "Central do Brasil".
● There's nothing left from the movie for a long time, neither are those letter-writers. More than 90% of the Brazilian are literate.

(Cidade de Deus)

● Filming spot of the movie "Cidade de Deus".
● The movie is based on the fiction, and the fiction is based on a true story. However, many of what I'd heard here are more exciting/horrible than "Cidade de Deus", such as helicopters shooting toward the mobs in the mountains.
● Friendly people and no actual slums. I don't feel it's dangerous here.
● It's a super hot day, I saw many hot girls and half-naked men walking around. They all have great bodies.
● With the coming of 2013-14 World Cup and 2016 summer Olympic Games in Brazil, the Rio police make lots of efforts sweeping out the mobs. They almost had done some dangerous barrios, though it's better to be careful anyway since the police might be with mobs, as the movie said.
